Our first Internship programme “Stepchange 1” was launched in May 2015.
Having received over 200 CV’s in response to our advert for Stepchange 1, we shortlisted and interviewed 40 candidates, and ultimately selected 20 enthusiastic, confident young individuals.
TRAINING PROGRAMMES
1. The group attended business related training programmes for 6 weeks, covering topics such as Business communication skills, the Team Business entrepreneuship workshop, project management, Advanced Microsoft Office, Information management skills, first aid and fire-fighting.
PRACTICAL WORK EXPOSURE
2. On 01 November 2015 the interns were placed at various businesses for practical experience, and the feedback from the host employers was overwhelmingly positive.
EMPLOYMENT SUCCESS
3.At the end of the 8 month program, 17 of the 20 were employed on a permanent basis by their host companies, one elected to start her own IT consultancy business, one went back to study an MCSE through Microsoft and the final intern was employed immediately by another IT Company.
